Privacy policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
Eye Contact for Google Meet (also called Sguardo Dritto) is a Chrome extension made by Matteo Scutifero. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short: the extension does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data.
Camera video
The extension never turns on your camera and never asks for camera access. When Google Meet has already opened your camera, the extension shows that same video to you, inside the Meet page, in a small movable preview. The video is not recorded, analysed, copied, uploaded or sent anywhere. The other participants never see the preview. When you turn off the camera in Meet, the preview disappears too.
Settings stored on your computer
To remember your choices, the extension saves on your computer, in the browser's extension storage: whether the preview is shown, its position, size and transparency, mirroring and lock state. These settings never leave your device and are deleted when you remove the extension.
Where it runs
The extension only runs on https://meet.google.com. It does not read meeting content, chat messages, participant names, contacts or your browsing history, and it does not run on any other website.
No servers, no tracking
The extension has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. It does not load code from the internet: everything it runs is included in the package published on the Chrome Web Store.
Optional feedback form
The extension links to an optional feedback form hosted by Tally. The form opens only when you click "Send feedback" or, once, after you uninstall the extension. The link only contains the extension version, your browser language, your operating system (for example Windows or macOS) and where it was opened (popup, welcome page, uninstall). Whatever you choose to type in the form, including an optional email address, is sent to Tally and used only to improve the extension and, if you ask, to reply to you. It is never sold or shared, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time.
Permissions
- Storage: saves the settings described above on your computer.
- Access to meet.google.com: shows your preview on top of the Meet page.
- Scripting: adds the preview to Meet tabs that were already open when you installed or updated the extension, so you don't have to reload an ongoing call.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
